The main companies in the plastics and rubber industry have contributed to minimize their environmental impact, recovering a large proportion of plastic material waste and increasing plastic recycling and reuse.
In terms of production, our country manufactures 80% of the standard plastics it consumes. With regards to exports, Spain sells 39% of its standard plastics production, mainly PET, in international markets, with a total export volume of 64%.
The Spanish plastics sector, a basic industry for our economy, is on the rise. Last year this sector had a growth rate of 7.9%.
